At the foot of the Small Kalkan mountains among the tract there  is a wellspring bearing the historical name of Chokan Valikhanov. In 1856 the way of expedition from Russia to far Kashgar led by the great scientist-educator and traveler Chokan Valikhanov passed through the territory of the present national Park. The expedition stopped at a wellspring to rest, and Chokan Valikhanov drank water from this wellspring. Since then, the wellspring is famous among people as a Saint, has healing water and cures many diseases.
