In mid-February 2023 in the national Park "Altyn-Emel" The staff of the Institute of Zoology took part in the annual winter registration of ungulates listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Kazakhstan – gazelles, argali and kulans. According to the results of the accounting, it turned out that the populations of these ungulates are in a stable condition: 5360 gazelle, 179 argali, 3586 kulan. There is a slight increase compared to last year. These indicators indicate that the protection of wildlife in the Altyn-Emel National Park is still at a good level. Chairman of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee Kylyshbayev Nurlan Nauryzovich and his deputy Turgambayev Daniyar Galymovich also took part in the accounting.
